Ivort Ak-Inik

The Knight's bones are dust,
and his good sword rust;—
His soul is with the saints, I trust.

This section will not show up on the carrd itself, this is here for instruction purposes only. You can delete this section if you want. If you have an issue or need help that isn't covered in the tips below, you are welcome to contact me for help via my askbox @rcsea on tumblr.

Terms of Use

  • Edit as much as you like, but don't remove any credits present. They are the small © symbols. Leave them alone. You may change the color to match your custom palette for your carrd but do not make them invisible or hard to see.

  • Don't claim as your own work OR use this template as a base for a different template OR use it for any commissions, paid or not. If you use this template, I don't care how much you edit it, go wild, but the credit has to stay intact and you cannot claim it as your own.

  • Do not use to promote illegal, harmful, or hateful content. No burn books, no hate blogs, no callout blogs, nothing of the sort.

How to Add More Muse Bios

  • At the bottom of the previous muse info section (should be the very bottom of the carrd unless you add other things), add a new #sectionbreak and name it what you wish. If you don't know how to do that, you can just copy the #muse1 break but you MUST rename it. Every section must have an individual name to link to, even if you just go with something simple like #muse1 #muse2 #muse3, so on and so forth.

  • Directly below that, add a scroll point  ( the yellow line ),  or as mentioned above, copy the previous scroll point and rename it if you don't know how to set one up.

  • Copy everything between  #muse1  and your new section and drag everything into place. Make sure you highlight the individual containers to delete instead of each individual element as that will save lots of time by copying and moving things all at once. If done right, you should only have to copy / move four things for each new muse you add (the title + two sections + the return button), unless you also need to copy the section breaks.

  • Link to the new muse bio wherever you wish. If you link within the carrd itself, such as linking to it from the muse roster here, then you can just link with #whateveryounamedthis, but if you link outside of the carrd (i.e. from tumblr) then you need to put the full link. So your link would be ( https://yourcarrdname.carrd.co/#whateveryounamedthis ).

How to Add Muses to the Roster

  • The muses are divided into rows of three. There is a new container for every row to prevent uneven spacing. To add more muses, you need to duplicate the container as a new one instead of adding to the same one, keeping only to a row of three per container.

  • Make a copy of the image and description sections and move them into place. There should only be two things to copy per new muse.

  • If a row has an empty space with no muse, click on the container, select the column that is empty (left, middle, or right) and check the box that says "use as spacer". If you have two muses in a row instead of three and want them to center, delete the empty column and the other two will adjust automatically. If you need to re-add the column later when adding another muse, just click "add column" and the sizes should also automatically adjust in that case as well.

How to Add More Categories

  • Make a new yellow scroll point and place it between the last category container and the dividing line before the "scroll to top" button, or wherever you want your new category to go if not at the bottom. Give the scroll point a unique name.

  • Copy a box with the category title and a box with the section of muses in it and move them below the new scroll point you have just made.

  • Click the category buttons at the top, add a new button, and link it to the scroll point you just made. You can rearrange the buttons if the order of the categories has changed.

Image Sizing

  • The banner on the front page is most suited for images at a 3:1 or 2:1 ratio depending on personal preference. It should be at least 1000px wide for best results. (The one that comes with the template is 2000px wide.)

  • Images on the muse roster are roughly around a 5:3 ratio. They will resize based on width, so don't worry about exact size other than matching them with each other by ratio. They work best if they are at least 360px wide or greater.

  • The tall image in the muse bio template is at a 9:16 ratio. It will also resize based on width. If you make the bio longer, you may want a taller image, or to add another column to the container so it does not outgrow the image too much and make the spacing look weird. The image here will work best with the current spacing if it is at least 450px wide or greater.

  • If you need help with image sizing, or re-sizing anything / fixing spacing, you're more than welcome to shoot me a message on my blog and I'll try to help when I can.

  I.   Please respect me and my boundaries, keep me and my character separate.
I have no interest in drama starting over what happened in an RP session; we are both adults, and I trust we can behave as such.
  II.   Ivort is celibate.
I don’t do one-off hookup scenes. Please don't pressure me for ERP.
I am, however, interested in slow-burn romance under the right circumstances. When in doubt, just ask!
III.   While mature RP is my bread and butter, and comes with the territory of having a living corpse character, I have a few hard boundaries.
I do not RP anything having to do with sexual violence, rape, or pregnancy.

IV.   I don’t RP with characters or players under 21.
I don't RP with characters that use fetishizing language or play on anti-black and anti-indigenous stereotypes.
  V.   Consent and communication are everything to me!
Please let me know if there is anything that you are uncomfortable with, before, during, or after a session.

Story

Born   in Gelmorra during the Sixth Astral Era to a shoemaker and a weaver, Ivort was left orphaned by a fire before his sixth nameday. Taken in by the royal House Inik, known throughout the subterranean city for their charity, the boy was provided with a place to stay, an education, and a purpose.  Devoting  himself entirely to his House, the Elezen soon earned his place among the House’s knights, eventually being decorated as captain, until his life was ultimately cut short at the hands of someone he loved.  Embalmed   and interred in a small stone casket in the Tam-Tara Deepcroft, the Ak-Inik lay in his eternity for centuries, forgotten.  Awakened    by the rush of aether following the fall of Dalamud, Ivort had somehow managed to escape the pull of the black magicks that filled the necropolis he was laid to rest in. The knight found himself in the middle of the Black Shroud, far from where he was buried with nothing but his sparse grave goods and little recollection of what happened to him.  Convinced   that he is lost, and initially unaware of Gelmorra’s fall into ancient status, Ivort feels a strong pull to return to Gelmorra, to his House, and his purpose.  Plagued  by nightmares and visions of what he lost, Ivort spends his day studying the world around him and desperately trying to get back home

House Inik

One   of the very first Hyurian royal houses, the house Inik’s beginnings are humble and trace back to Gelmorra’s founding. Originally a family of craftsmen and artisans, the Pact of Gelmorra paved the way for several lucrative opportunities for the patriarch, Lord Eluric, as well as his wife, Lady Derehild and their children.  Honing   their skills as well as their reputation during times of war and conflict by manufacturing clothing and armor. The quality of their craft was unmatched and distinctive, distinguishable by the intricate flowers and bird etched into the metal.  Lord   Eluric and Lady Derehild contributed no small number of resources to Gelmorra’s founding, just as they had before. Their masterly skillset found them weaving baskets and tapestry, forging ingots for doors and cookware, and teaching others how to do so.  Accumulating   a hefty fortune for their work which lead them to handle matters of diplomacy, the house Inik was commissioned to design Gelmorra’s crest, a representation of the unity between Hyur and Elezen, the lifeblood of the civilization they helped build.  Moving   away from common artisanal wares, the house Inik became well known for artistry in other forms. Binding books and collecting poetry, their philanthropy focused on education and the cultural betterment of their people. Infamous were their galas and extravagant were their soirees, and to protect the integrity of their craft, they trained many knights, most of Inik blood, however it was not uncommon for them to take in orphans and train them as knights.  As   the years gave away to change, and pacts formed with the Elementals, permitting Gelmorrans to live above ground, the house Inik once again played an important role. Returning to their roots, they helped their fellow men build the forest nation of Gridania, and abandoned Gelmorra entirely.  Blessed    by the Elementals for their generosity, the Inik family produced a Padjali child, and eventually merged with another Hyurian bloodline. With the changing of the seasons, hundreds of years went by, and the Inik name, as well as their past of artistry and connection to Gelmorra were forgotten.

About

appearance

A  gaunt and marred man just shy of seven fulms in height, Ivort’s lanky stature and kind gaze are of the very last things most notice about him.  A   hideous wound cascades across his face: flesh torn asunder, revealing teeth, bone, and sinew. The wound creeps upwards, splitting across his right eye, leaving naught but an empty void in its place.  The   long and lean fingers of a swordsman are covered by heavy gauntlets, hiding flayed flesh, exposed bone across knobby knuckles.  Chainmail   and thick cloth cover other wounds: training scars, burns, cuts, and an especially large tear beneath the breast.  Ivort's   presence is intoxicating, and he smells of fragrant herbs, balsam, and mossy earth. Frightening as he is, a despondent beauty cloaks the man. Though he cares not for appearances, having not grown up learning shame and aversion to mien, Ivort takes care to present himself to the best of his ability, as is his duty as a knight.  Wavy   hair secured in place by a red ribbon, armor clean and polished, if it were not for his cadaverous front, the elezen would be indistinguishable from Eorzea’s own knights.
